Patrick was a pioneer in providing digital content, initially for CD ROMs in the mid 1990s and later for the first internet web sites. He recognised that, as the digital revolution gathered pace, existing ski resort guides, designed for paper publishing, would not sit well in a digital format or make good use of the power of computers. He designed his Snow Hunter resorts database to do both and found he was the only credible digital content supplier in the English-speaking world at the time. Sadly Patrick was not smart enough to make a killing in the dot.com boom era, but nonetheless Snow Hunter content was identified by internet trend surveyors such as US consultants Jupiter as the bedrock of the entire online winter sports publishing industry. Before the internet though, Snow Hunter supplied the content for a ski resort guide on CD published in 1996 by a Cambridge based publisher, Pearson and entitled Ski Europe. The main CD ROM client was of course Microsoft, taking data on 800 ski areas for their best-selling Autoroute Express software. Main Past and Present Internet Publishing Clients:
